About
In 1998 he achieved a distinction in his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS). He has also completed his Basic Surgical training and The James Cook University Hospital. He achieved his MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2003. He has also gained his MRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons, in 2003. In 2012 he also completed a Fellowship to Intercollegiate Speciality Board in GS, ED, (FRCS).
Mr Rahman-Casans has a vested interest in the teaching and training of the medical staff of the future and is actively involved with the training and mentoring of junior doctors, medical students, nurses and theatre staff.
In keeping with the above he was part of research team at Durham hospital, who were carrying out work with regards to colorectal cells. Due to this work he was awarded a PhD in Biological Sciences from Durham University.
In 2004 Newcastle University also honoured him, for his teaching roles, with the title of Clinical Lecturer. In 2005 he also earned his Post-Grad certificate in Clinical Education.
