Mr Isreb is an Upper GI bariatric surgeon, with interest in general surgery of childhood, at North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Trust. He completed his surgical training at NHS England Education North East and gained his CCT certificate in October 2021. Following a post CCT robotic/bariatric fellowship at Reading he was then appointed at North Tees in September 2022.

He had training and speciality registration in two countries and his NHS practice includes wide variety of open, endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures for adults and children. He has completed a large design-based research project to create an online training course to teach surgeons to safely remove the gallbladder in keyhole surgery and focussed on other aspects of training and patient safety in theatre. He completed a PhD degree successfully in 2017.

Along with his clinical experience he has vast experience in education throughout his career including supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students and completing a diploma and PhD in medical education (surgical skills assessment and training). He has multiple publications in high impact journals, including a leading article in the BJS as well as his research gaining the first place in the bright idea award 2011.
